So over the last year or so people have been asking Nakeicha and I, what is Alexander Skye Group and what do we do? That is a question we are currently building the answer for, but the essence of what we do is to serve and help businesses and entrepreneurs in the most effective way we know how to. And as we learn more and experience more we test, we implement, then pivot. In the world of business, one truth remains constant: adapt or get left behind! Entrepreneurs and business owners who fail to evolve with the times risk becoming obsolete. Whether it’s emerging technologies, shifting customer expectations, or new regulations, the landscape is always changing and those who lead must pivot to win.
Today, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most powerful disruptors in business. From tools that streamline operations to platforms that replace once-human interactions, AI is pushing boundaries faster than most can track. And yet, despite all of its efficiency, something fundamental is being lost… the human connection. The personal touch that builds trust, drives loyalty, and forges meaningful relationships is fading into the background.
At Alexander Skye Group, we believe that technology should enhance, not replace, the power of human rapport. Just as advertisers learned to tap into emotion to drive connection, AI is now being trained to simulate that same experience. But even the most advanced tech can’t replace intuition, empathy, and strategic thinking. That’s where true advisors make the difference.
As consultants, advisors, and entrepreneurs, my wife Nakeicha and I have had to embrace several pivots in our own journey. Each pivot wasn’t just a response to market trends, it was a strategic recalibration of our mission and the people we serve. Below are a few defining pivots that shaped the current direction of Alexander Skye Group.
Pivot #1: Going Back to the Trenches
After over a decade of business ownership, we made a bold move: we re-entered the entrepreneurial ecosystem not as experts, but as learners. For 18 months, we immersed ourselves in programs offered by government agencies, nonprofits, and business development centers not to teach, but to observe.
We asked: What are these organizations really teaching entrepreneurs? How effective are these resources for business owners at different stages?
What we discovered was eye-opening. While help is available, it’s fragmented. Resources, incentives, and vital business programs exist, but they’re often scattered, poorly marketed, and disconnected from the entrepreneurs who need them most. That was the first clue that a better bridge needed to be built.

Pivot #2: Doing the Work Pro Bono
Once we identified the resource gap, we decided to test our own theory. We offered consulting services to entrepreneurs some pro bono, some paid over an 8 to 12 month period. And this wasn't just about giving back; it was a grassroots effort to gather real data from real businesses.
Our objective was simple: understand the pain points, observe the blind spots, and document where businesses were most vulnerable. And the findings were clear: most business owners don’t seek help until they’re in trouble. Few reach out during the ideation phase of their business. Fewer still have systems in place to evaluate their business operations, tax efficiency, scalability or exit strategy. That insight inspired the systems we’re currently building a framework that identifies what business owners need, when they need it, and how to act before it’s too late.
Pivot #3: Moving from General to Specialized
Our latest pivot is perhaps our boldest yet. We are no longer positioning ourselves as general business consultants. Instead, we are now laser-focused on high-earning entrepreneurs specifically those generating seven figures or more, employing five or more staff, and actively paying taxes without a full grasp of what they may be leaving on the table.
Too many of these businesses are overpaying taxes, under-utilizing credits, and missing out on strategic financial advantages. Our role? To diagnose financial inefficiencies, identify where money is being lost, and reintroduce it into the business through smarter tax strategy, incentives, and operational refinement.
This pivot is about impact and sustainability. It allows us to serve those who can benefit most from our expertise while positioning Alexander Skye Group as a premium advisory firm delivering measurable financial results.

The Art of the Pivot
Pivoting isn’t a sign of failure it’s a strategy of longevity. Every major leap in our journey has come after a courageous decision to change course, rethink our purpose, and refocus our value.
At Alexander Skye Group, we are committed to evolving with intention. Our goal remains the same: to serve and help 100,000 entrepreneurs build stronger, more resilient businesses by 2030. But how we get there? That will always require bold pivots, fresh perspectives, and a willingness to go where others won’t.
